Community Edition
Diskover offers a free Community Edition for an unrestricted amount of time. It offers limited features and indexing options, although many users find this free offering satisfactory for their initial needs and/or get hands-on experience with the Diskover platform with minimal to no deployment effort.

Diskover is a versatile tool, not focused on capacity or storage type, but on unstructured data, which is the main challenge customers face. Having worked extensively with Dell DataIQ after the acquisition of ClarityNow, there were challenges using the product in ubiquitous environments.
Diskover makes containerized data globally searchable in turn allowing for easy actionable decisions, for example, where data should be and when, how to report on data, how to make data owners accountable, etc. Understanding where data lives, the cost of data placement, and the analytics associated with these decisions ultimately results in the cost savings that Diskover enables. The Elasticsearch backend of Diskover allows customers to go beyond their data and actually understand their data from a pipeline perspective.
With an extensive backend plugin architecture, once data is understood and tagged, creating actions on that data becomes easy. An extensive plugin library already exists and is being added to on a regular basis. In addition, existing facility plugins can be ported to be used with Diskover. This allows the tool to be an integrated part of a facility’s data management toolset. This includes tie-into tools like facility scheduling systems, data movers, and asset management tools.
